One of the service projects in which the Quilt Guild is involved is making quilts for the children who stay at the Ronald McDonald House in Durham while undergoing treatment at Duke University Medical Center. Some of the quilts are delivered to the Ronald McDonald Family Room on the pediatrics floor of Duke University Medical Center. Many parents use the kitchen, bath, computer and laundry facilities at the Family Room while their children are in the hospital.

"I want to share some pictures of the wonderful quilts made for the children at the Ronald McDonald House. They were very excited to pick out their own special blankets. Mabel, the young lady sitting to the left with the ladybug quilt, received a double lung transplant in March. Mabel and her mother go to the Center of Living every day for Mabel’s rehabilitation. Dana, the young lady sitting to the right in pink, is waiting for a lung transplant. Mabel and Dana have become great friends while staying at the House and want to send a special 'Thank You' for the quilts! Terri Shoemaker, Development Coordinator"
